Dad

- dad was named Darrel Shaynne Curtis (because Darry is a junior)
- died at age 40
- looked 20
- died in a car wreck
- he and Darry looked enough alike to be brothers
- acted more like Sodapop
- was never rough with anyone without meaning to be
- dad's hair was dark-brown that kicks out in front with a cowlick at the back
- had dark brown eyes, like Soda
- had a hard time making ends meet
- used to take the boys hunting; he and Darry used to get the most ducks

Mom

- Dally said they Curtis's had "quite the mom" and that she "knew the score"
- kept Dally from getting into a lot of trouble
